Samsung's Kang Min-ho nears 17 straight seasons with 10 home runs, a feat only two others have achieved

Kang Min-ho, the veteran catcher for the KBO's Samsung Lions, is on the verge of achieving a remarkable feat: 17 consecutive seasons with at least 10 home runs. This milestone would place him third in the league's history for such a streak.

Currently, Kang has hit 8 home runs this season. With two more home runs, he will join an elite group of players who have maintained consistent power-hitting over such an extended period. His journey began when he hit his first career home run on April 28, 2005, in his second year after debuting with the Lotte Giants in 2004.

Since 2010, Kang has hit double-digit home runs every season for 16 consecutive years. He has surpassed 20 home runs in multiple seasons, including a personal best of 35 home runs in 2015. His consistent performance underscores his longevity and impact on the game.

Last September, Kang Min-ho set another significant record, becoming the first catcher in KBO history to hit 350 career home runs. This achievement further cemented his status as one of the league's most accomplished players.
