Samsunspor and Göztepe share spoils in six-goal thriller

Samsunspor and Göztepe kicked off their Trendyol Süper Lig season with a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium. The high-scoring encounter saw momentum swing multiple times before the points were ultimately shared.

Göztepe took an early lead in the 3rd minute with a goal from Matos. However, Samsunspor responded strongly. Marius converted a penalty, and Emre Kılınç added another goal, giving Samsunspor a 2-1 advantage by halftime.

The second half brought more drama as Göztepe fought back. Goals from Armstrong and Efkan put the visitors ahead once more. Despite the setback, Samsunspor found a late equalizer in the 90th minute through Celil, salvaging a point at home. Samsunspor's Marius missed a second penalty in the 58th minute, a moment that could have extended their lead earlier.

Both teams begin the league campaign with one point. Samsunspor will face Çaykur Rizespor away next week, while Göztepe will host Gençlerbirliği.
