Sangji University Appoints Professor Bang Jeong-gyun of Korean Medicine College as 10th President

The School Corporation Sangji Hakwon has appointed Professor Bang Jeong-gyun of the College of Korean Medicine as the 10th president of Sangji University. The decision was made during a board meeting on July 29. Professor Bang's term as president will span four years, from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2030.

Professor Bang is an alumnus of Sangji University, entering the College of Korean Medicine as part of its first cohort in 1988. He joined the faculty as a professor in 2002 and has since accumulated diverse experience in university administration, alongside his educational and research duties. Notably, he served as the director of legal affairs for the School Corporation Sangji Hakwon starting in 2017, and also held positions as head of the External Cooperation Department and vice president of Sangji University. In these roles, he managed key university policies and external cooperation efforts, contributing to the university's development and strengthening ties with the local community.

Further broadening his experience, Professor Bang served as a member of the Ministry of Education's Committee for the Adjustment of Private School Disputes in 2020, working to advance private school systems and enhance the public nature of university operations. He also held a position as a senior secretary for Civil Society at the Presidential Secretariat of the Blue House in 2021, gaining extensive experience in both education and the public sector. Leveraging his expertise in Korean medicine, his administrative background, and his capabilities in external cooperation, Professor Bang plans to elevate the university's competitiveness. His vision includes driving sustainable development through educational innovation, strengthening research capabilities, and fostering cooperation with industry and the local community.
