Şanlıurfa Governorate Implements Additional Security Measures for Schools After Incidents

In response to recent unsettling events in Siverek and Kahramanmaraş, the Şanlıurfa Governorate has implemented enhanced security protocols across all schools and educational facilities within the province. This decisive action aims to bolster the safety of students and staff by re-evaluating and reinforcing existing security measures.

The new directives mandate that all parents and visitors seeking entry to schools for meetings, information, or visits must first undergo a thorough check at the school gate. Only after this screening process, and with the explicit knowledge of the school administration, will entry be permitted. This measure is designed to prevent unauthorized access and ensure a controlled environment within school grounds.

Furthermore, the governorate has explicitly banned the presence, waiting, or gathering of individuals unrelated to the school's activities in and around school entrances and perimeters. Strict enforcement of this regulation is expected, with legal action to be taken against violators under relevant articles of the Provincial Administration Law and the Law on Misdemeanors. Security and gendarmerie units, in collaboration with school administrations, will conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance, underscoring the seriousness with which these security concerns are being addressed.
