Santa Cruz faces a Saturday of up to 35°C and rain in several areas

Saturday will bring sharply different conditions across Bolivia’s Santa Cruz department, with temperatures ranging from 14°C at night in Vallegrande to 35°C in parts of the Chiquitania.

The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service, Senamhi, forecasts a cloudy day in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, with temperatures of 25°C in the morning and 30°C in the afternoon. Rain is expected at night, along with 24°C, 1.7 millimeters of precipitation, 89 percent humidity and southerly winds reaching 32 kilometers per hour.

San Ignacio de Velasco will be among the hottest locations. Temperatures there are expected to rise from 30°C in the morning to 35°C in the afternoon before nighttime rain, with 29°C and 1.5 millimeters of precipitation. Concepción is also forecast to reach 35°C, followed by rain and a nighttime temperature of 30°C. Senamhi estimates 2.8 millimeters of precipitation there.

Camiri will climb from 22°C in the morning to 31°C in the afternoon, then fall to 18°C at night. The forecast calls for cloudy skies but no rain.

Vallegrande will see the widest contrast. Temperatures will begin at 17°C, rise to 27°C in the afternoon and drop to 14°C at night. Rain is expected, with an estimated 1.1 millimeters of precipitation and 89 percent humidity.
