Santa Cruz municipality publishes list of properties with irregular tax payments

The municipality of Santa Cruz de la Sierra is taking action against irregular property tax payments, identifying over 22,000 cases where taxpayers benefited from illegal reductions. Mayor 'Mamén' Saavedra announced a regularization period for those affected.

From July 29 to August 31, individuals who received these illegal tax breaks can come forward to pay the omitted tax amounts. For example, someone who should have paid 3,000 bolivianos but only paid 100 bolivianos will now need to pay the remaining 2,900 bolivianos.

Initially, the municipality will only release the property registration numbers of those involved. However, Mayor Saavedra warned that starting September 1, the names of taxpayers who fail to regularize their situation will be made public. The municipality intends to pursue legal actions against those who do not comply with the regularization process.

The list of properties with irregular tax payments has been made public, allowing citizens to check if their property is included. This initiative aims to recover significant economic losses incurred by the municipality due to these fraudulent tax practices.
