Santa Cruz to host South American Beach Soccer League

Santa Cruz is gearing up to become the hub for South American beach soccer as it prepares to host the South Zone of the Beach Soccer Evolution League. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 9 to 13 at the Abraham Telchi Sports Village Complex.

This event will bring together five South American national teams: Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile. Both the senior and U20 national teams from these countries will participate, competing in parallel tournaments. The competition format will be a round-robin, with points from both categories being combined to determine the overall champion of the South Zone.

The league is part of CONMEBOL's broader initiative to foster the growth of beach soccer across South America and create more competitive platforms for national teams. Bolivia's selection as host underscores the confederation's commitment to developing the sport in the region. José Claure, Director of Marketing and Commercial for the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), highlighted the significance of hosting an international event, noting its potential to improve local sports infrastructure.
