Santiago's Movistar Arena to become Santander Arena

Santiago's iconic Movistar Arena is set to undergo a significant rebranding, officially becoming the Santander Arena. This change follows the conclusion of the concession agreement between Arena Santiago and Telefónica Chile, signaling a new chapter for the well-known venue located in Parque O'Higgins.

After operating for 16 years as Movistar Arena, the space will now be known as Santander Arena. The official confirmation comes after El Mercurio reported earlier that Telefónica Chile's departure was imminent, partly due to its sale to Tigo. The bank Santander emerged as the leading candidate to secure the naming rights.

Santander representatives described the alliance as a "natural evolution." They emphasized that the partnership extends beyond a mere name change, representing a commitment to one of Chile's most significant cultural and entertainment spaces. The bank aims to foster memorable experiences for attendees.

The coliseum, a primary venue for major shows in Chile for nearly two decades, is entering a new era with this rebranding. The transition to Santander Arena is expected to commence soon, marking a new phase for the popular entertainment hub.
