Sanwo-Olu appoints acting auditor-general

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has nominated Dr. Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola for the position of Acting State Auditor-General, pending confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly. The nomination, conveyed through a circular from the Office of the Head of Service, is effective July 28, 2026.

Before her nomination for the appointment, Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola served as the Head of Directorate, Government Accounts, where she distinguished herself through exceptional professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public financial management.

Born in Lagos State in 1974, she possesses a comprehensive academic background, including a Doctor of Business Administration in International Business from Lagos State University and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.

Her qualifications also include a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management, a Higher National Diploma and National Diploma in Accounting, and an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Criminal Intelligence. Tayo-Makanjuola is a Fellow and member of numerous professional bodies, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. She has also been recognized with the Distinguished Woman of Peace and Honour Award by the United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre.
