Sanwo-Olu urges Nigerians to support Tinubu, security agencies amid rising insecurity

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed to Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu and the nation's security forces amidst escalating security challenges. He expressed confidence that the country will overcome the threats posed by criminal elements.

In a statement released on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the public's heightened concerns due to recent attacks and abductions. However, he urged citizens to maintain faith in the nation's capacity to confront and defeat insecurity.

This is the time we must stand united as one people behind our nation’s leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and all of our armed forces. The forces of evil confronting our nation do not ask for our political affiliation before they kill, maim and destroy. So must our resolve and support for our nation be devoid of political leanings and divisive rhetorics.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that defeating criminal groups requires a collaborative effort between the government, security agencies, and local communities. He called for vigilance, support for lawful security operations, and the provision of intelligence to aid authorities in preventing attacks and apprehending perpetrators.

The governor also extended solidarity to victims of recent attacks, describing the loss of life as tragic. He specifically highlighted the need for prayers and support for teachers and students abducted in Oyo State, emphasizing that the nation must not abandon those affected by insecurity. He praised the bravery of security personnel who risk their lives daily to protect communities and national stability, noting that strengthening the security architecture requires patience, determination, and national unity.
