Saudi Arabia deports over 10,000 illegal residents in one week

Saudi security authorities have apprehended a significant number of illegal residents during a nationwide crackdown. In a single week, from July 30 to August 5, a total of 14,440 individuals were arrested in joint inspections conducted by security forces and relevant government agencies.

The arrested individuals included 7,090 people violating residency laws, 3,932 violating border security regulations, and 3,418 violating labor laws. Following these arrests, 10,827 illegal residents were deported from the Kingdom.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior reported that 18,131 violators were referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain necessary travel documents, while 6,357 others were directed to complete their travel arrangements. The campaign also focused on border security, with 1,593 people arrested attempting to cross into the Kingdom, primarily from Yemen and Ethiopia.

Authorities also detained 32 individuals attempting to leave the country illegally and apprehended 25 people for aiding illegal residents by providing transportation, shelter, or employment. Currently, 32,012 expatriates are undergoing legal procedures.

The Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning against facilitating illegal entry, transportation, shelter, or any assistance to violators. Penalties include up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to SR1 million, and confiscation of vehicles and properties used in these activities. The public is urged to report any violations by calling specific emergency numbers.
