Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Stress Need to Ensure Security of Waterways

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have underscored the critical need for regional security and de-escalation of tensions. The emphasis was placed during a phone call between Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

Both foreign ministers reviewed current regional developments and affirmed the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation between their countries. They specifically highlighted efforts aimed at reducing escalation and containing existing tensions in the region.

A key point of discussion was the necessity of ensuring the security and safety of vital waterways, including the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea. This focus aims to contribute to peaceful and comprehensive solutions that bolster both regional and international security and stability, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
