Saudi Arabia: Palestinian Cause Central to Regional Security Vision

Saudi Arabia has reiterated that the Palestinian cause remains a fundamental element in any serious strategy for regional security and stability. These remarks were made during the Gulf-Mediterranean Summit, held in Rome, which focused on strategic dialogue for stability and economic cooperation.

Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the region's current strategic transformation necessitates new approaches to security. She stressed that the Palestinian issue is central to any comprehensive vision for the Middle East. Radwan warned that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and the erosion of final status issues, particularly concerning Jerusalem, are detrimental to both regional and international stability.

Radwan asserted that the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and an independent state, must be the cornerstone of any future political process. She emphasized that ending the occupation and ensuring accountability for Israeli violations are essential steps toward achieving a just peace and lasting regional security.
