Saudi attacks target Houthi military sites at Hodeidah port city in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition announced it carried out airstrikes on Houthi military sites in Yemen's port city of Hodeidah. These targets were reportedly linked to recent attacks on Saudi shipping and a Houthi announcement of a naval blockade against the kingdom.

Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reported that Saudi strikes hit facilities belonging to the state telecommunications corporation in Hodeidah. The broadcaster also claimed that Saudi forces targeted Kamaran Island, located off Yemen's western coast. Reuters could not immediately verify these reports.

The incident underscores the fragile security situation in Yemen, where the internationally recognized government, based in Aden, continues to face the Houthi group, which controls the capital, Sanaa. The airstrikes signal a potential return to more intense conflict despite previous efforts to de-escalate.
