Saudi crude oil production rises 5.6% to 3.46 billion barrels in 2025

Saudi Arabia's crude oil output surged by 5.6% in 2025, reaching 3.46 billion barrels, according to the latest Oil and Gas Statistics report from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). This increase in production was accompanied by a corresponding 6% rise in oil exports, which totaled 2.35 billion barrels for the year.

The report highlights a significant shift in domestic energy consumption patterns. Crude oil consumption within the kingdom saw a notable decline of 6.7%, falling to 155.4 million barrels. This trend extended to refined petroleum products, where overall domestic consumption dropped to 868.4 million barrels.

Specifically, consumption of gas oil/diesel decreased by 3.4% to 216.5 million barrels, and fuel oil consumption fell by 13% to 207.2 million barrels. Gasoline consumption remained relatively stable at 193.5 million barrels. Meanwhile, production of refined products reached 991.5 million barrels, with gas oil/diesel and gasoline production showing increases of 6% and 1.6% respectively.
