Saudi foreign minister attends GCC-Canada Strategic Dialogue Ministerial Meeting

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, participated in the joint ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council-Canada Strategic Dialogue in Manama. The gathering aimed to strengthen ties and explore avenues for increased collaboration between GCC member states and Canada.

Discussions centered on bolstering cooperation in key areas such as economic and trade fields. The participants also emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination on matters of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to regional prosperity and stability.

Beyond economic ties, the dialogue addressed pressing regional and international developments. Views were exchanged on current events and their potential implications for regional security. A significant point of discussion was the need to intensify international efforts to safeguard maritime corridors and ensure the freedom of international navigation, crucial for promoting global stability and protecting shared interests.

The meeting also tackled the issue of Iranian escalation and attacks targeting several countries in the region, including Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. The participants collectively condemned these actions, highlighting their detrimental impact on regional security, airspace safety, and de-escalation efforts. Prince Faisal bin Farhan also held a separate bilateral meeting with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand to review relations and discuss regional developments.
