Saudi foreign minister holds separate talks with Bahrain and UK counterparts on regional de-escalation

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate telephone talks with Bahrain’s foreign minister and Britain’s foreign secretary on Sunday as regional tensions continued.

In his call with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, Prince Faisal reviewed Saudi-British relations and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination. They also discussed regional and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in the region and its effects on security and stability.

The two sides stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions. They also discussed strengthening the security of international waterways and ensuring freedom of maritime navigation, measures aimed at protecting supply chains and international trade.

Prince Faisal separately spoke with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani about the regional crisis and efforts to maintain security and stability.
