Saudi interior minister attends Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference

Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz attended the opening of the Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference at Riyadh’s Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter.

Organized by the Ministry of Interior under the theme “Our History and Our Future: Security and Growth,” the conference presents security history as part of the broader story of state institutions, stability and development. General Supervisor Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Tuwaian said the event would bring together experts and specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom.

The conference aims to produce documented material about Saudi Arabia’s historical journey, strengthen national identity and citizenship values, and convey the Saudi story to future generations. Its program examines the country’s security development from the establishment of the First Saudi State to the present, along with national awareness, cultural security, investment, opportunity creation and quality of life.

The minister and attendees watched an introductory film about the conference’s objectives and scientific program. They also toured an exhibition featuring participating institutions, historical and educational material, and interactive presentations covering nearly three centuries of the Saudi state’s security journey.

The conference builds on a 2025 forum organized by the Ministry of Interior in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Foundation, Darah, as well as defense, national guard and state security bodies and more than 40 academic, media and cultural organizations. The 2026 event runs until September 8 and includes more than 65 dialogue sessions and interactive meetings, with over 160 speakers, alongside knowledge and cultural experiences and other activities.
