Saudi-Malaysian Security Cooperation Foils Smuggling of 505.6 Kilograms of Ketamine

Saudi Arabia and Egypt are continuing close diplomatic coordination as regional tensions persist. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said he discussed Iran, Palestine and Sudan with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in a phone call.

Abdelatty said the ministers exchanged views on regional developments and discussed ways to further strengthen relations between the two countries. He also described their ties as “distinguished fraternal ties” in a post on his official X account.

We exchanged views on a number of regional issues, particularly developments in Iran, Palestine and Sudan.

The ministers had held another phone call in mid-August, when they praised the depth of their fraternal and strategic relationship. They also discussed efforts by regional partners to de-escalate tensions and contain instability.

At that time, they stressed the need to address regional security concerns, respect states’ sovereignty, and refrain from aggression. They also called for preventing conflicts from expanding and ensuring the security, safety and freedom of navigation along international waterways.

Bin Farhan and Abdelatty met in Cairo in June. They reaffirmed their intention to maintain coordination and consultation on regional developments while expanding cooperation in areas serving the interests of both countries and their peoples.
