Saudi Royal Orders Transform Ehsan Platform into Independent Non-Profit Foundation

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued a Royal Order to convert the National Platform for Charitable Work, known as Ehsan, into an independent non-profit entity named the "Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work." This strategic move aims to bolster charitable efforts across the Kingdom.

The foundation's core objectives include strengthening the charitable sector by creating more avenues for donations, facilitating connections between donors and beneficiaries, and enhancing the overall efficiency of non-profit organizations. This transformation is expected to foster innovation and develop the services offered through the Ehsan platform, supporting various charitable and development programs.

A new Board of Trustees has been formed to oversee the Ehsan Foundation, chaired by Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, with Ahmed Al-Rajhi serving as deputy. The board includes several prominent figures from government and private sectors, with a three-year term that is renewable.

Since its inception over five years ago, the Ehsan platform has garnered substantial support, enabling more than 440 million donations that collectively amount to SAR17 billion. This impressive figure reflects the deep societal confidence in the platform's role in empowering Saudi Arabia's charitable sector and its commitment to facilitating giving across diverse fields. The institutional shift marks a significant stride toward realizing the Kingdom's long-term aspirations for its charitable work.
