Savia Salud expands medicine delivery network, adding Sunday and holiday service in Medellín

Savia Salud has opened a new option for collecting medicines in Medellín: for the first time in the health insurer’s history, members can pick up prescriptions on Sundays and public holidays.

The expanded service began operating on September 1 as part of a broader overhaul of Savia Salud’s dispensing network. The insurer said the changes aim to remove access barriers, speed up service and provide more timely pharmaceutical care to members across the Aburrá Valley.

The Sunday and holiday service targets people who cannot visit care centers during the regular Monday-to-Saturday schedule because of work, household responsibilities or difficulties traveling. Savia Salud designated two locations in Medellín for the extended hours, at Premium Plaza shopping center, store 1135, and Mall Aventura, store 384.

The insurer also renewed its regular in-person network. Medellín now has four main locations: La 30 on Calle 29 #44-174, the BIC Building on Calle 50 #48-03, and the two shopping-center sites. Additional locations operate in Caldas, Sabaneta, Envigado, Itagüí, Bello, Girardota and Barbosa. Savia Salud’s general management said it coordinated the changes with medicine suppliers to avoid disruption or shortages during the logistical transition.
