Schools plant thousands of trees to bring more greenery to Ho Chi Minh City campuses

Schools across Ho Chi Minh City have opened the new academic year by planting trees and adding potted plants to their campuses.

In Long Binh Ward, pupils at Long Binh and Nguyen Minh Quang primary schools and Long Binh Kindergarten planted trees in their schoolyards. The schools also added 600 potted plants and taught students to care for them and protect the environment.

More than 1,000 trees were planted at schools in Thu Dau Mot Ward. The launch ceremony took place at a branch of Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten as part of an environmentally focused start to the school year.

Schools in Cau Kieu Ward, including Cau Kieu Secondary School, Trung Nhat Primary School and Son Ca Kindergarten, also created greener spaces for students. In Tan Phu Ward, Thoai Ngoc Hau High School, Hoang Dieu Secondary School and Ho Van Cuong Primary School held tree-planting ceremonies and called on teachers and pupils to protect greenery and the environment.

The campaign supports a program to plant 1 million trees between 2025 and 2030, as well as Ho Chi Minh City’s drive for public participation in building a green, clean and attractive city.
