Scientists Use AI to Recreate Jurassic Insect Calls, Including Sounds Above Human Hearing

Scientists have used fossilised wings, laser measurements, computer modelling and artificial intelligence to recreate the calls of nine insects that lived 165 million years ago.

The reconstruction suggests that some of the Jurassic insects produced clear chirping sounds. One species may have communicated with ultrasonic calls above the range of human hearing.
