Scottie Scheffler surpasses Tiger Woods to become PGA Tour’s career money leader

Scottie Scheffler added another record to a season already defined by winning. The world No. 1 captured the Tour Championship in Atlanta with a 16-under-par 264, finishing three strokes ahead of Viktor Hovland.

Scheffler started the final round tied for third but pulled away with six birdies and two bogeys, gaining four strokes on the day at East Lake Golf Club. The victory gave him his second FedExCup championship, following his 2024 title.

The $10 million winner’s prize also changed the PGA Tour’s career earnings record. Scheffler’s total rose to $130.39 million, equivalent to about 179.3 billion South Korean won, moving him beyond Tiger Woods’ $120.999 million. Woods had long held the top position on the list.

Scheffler now has 22 PGA Tour victories, including three this season. He played 20 events during the campaign, made the cut in 19, and finished inside the top 25 in every tournament except the Genesis Scottish Open.

Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim both finished tied for 14th at 9 under. Kim added $536,250 at the Tour Championship, taking his season earnings to $10.27 million. He became the first South Korean player to pass the $10 million mark in a PGA Tour season. Although he did not win, Kim recorded 11 top-10 finishes, including three runner-up results, and ended the season eighth on the money list. Both South Koreans automatically qualified for the 2026 Presidents Cup international team.
