Sean McCann, the younger brother of Madeleine McCann, is set to make his major championship debut representing Scotland in swimming at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The 21-year-old Loughborough University student will compete in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle events starting Saturday. McCann expressed his excitement for the opportunity to represent Scotland, calling it the "pinnacle" of his athletic career. He noted the added significance of competing at a "home Games" with family in Glasgow. "I was there in 2014 [at the Commonwealth Games], watching as a kid, so to make it now, 12 years later, is really a full-circle moment," he told Loughborough University. McCann, who grew up in England, qualifies to compete for Scotland through his father, Gerry. His sister Madeleine went missing in Portugal in 2007 at the age of three, an event that became a high-profile missing-person case and remains under investigation.
