Security of Chinese in Pakistan 'paramount for us', says PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Friday that the security of Chinese citizens residing in Pakistan is of the highest importance. Addressing the Pakistan-China Pharmaceutical and Healthcare B2B Investment Conference in Islamabad, Sharif asserted, "I would like to say with fullest force at my command that the security of Chinese brothers and sisters in Pakistan is paramount for us, it is most important."

He further committed his government's full effort to ensuring their safety, stating, "And we will leave no stone unturned to provide them with the best possible security." The Prime Minister's remarks underscore the significance of the bilateral relationship and the commitment to protecting foreign nationals contributing to Pakistan's economy.

The conference also served as a platform for substantial economic cooperation, with the signing of several agreements between Pakistani and Chinese companies. These deals, focused on the healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals sectors, are collectively valued at approximately $414 million. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted these agreements as a testament to the growing partnership and investment opportunities between the two nations.
