Semiconductor Parts Success Depends on Technology, Says CMTX CEO

The future of the semiconductor parts industry hinges on relentless research and development, according to Park Jong-hwa, CEO of CMTX. "Technology is everything, from beginning to end," Park stated, emphasizing that in the current semiconductor boom, parts must offer both competitive pricing and advanced technological capabilities to be selected by clients.

Park stressed his commitment to innovation, saying, "If someone offered the company 10 billion won, I would invest it in our research institute without hesitation." This dedication is crucial as semiconductor manufacturing processes become increasingly sophisticated, demanding higher technological standards for components like the silicon electrodes used in etching processes, which CMTX specializes in.

CMTX has distinguished itself by becoming the first domestic South Korean company to be a Tier 1 supplier for Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest contract chip manufacturer. The company also counts global memory semiconductor giants among its major clients. This strong market position, evidenced by its 2022 revenue of 18.6 billion won, is built upon its robust R&D capabilities and its ability to meet the evolving technological demands of the industry.
