Seminar Highlights Diaspora's Support for Morocco's Territorial Integrity

An international seminar held in Nador focused on the crucial role of the Moroccan diaspora in safeguarding the Kingdom's territorial integrity. Organized by the "Sahara in its Morocco and Morocco in its Sahara – Oriental Region" foundation, in coordination with the "Perspectives Center for Geopolitical and Strategic Studies," the event provided a platform to discuss the diaspora's contributions to national causes.

Participants, including academics, researchers, and civil society actors, explored how Moroccans abroad can bolster parallel diplomacy and advocate for Morocco's stances. They emphasized the diaspora's significant economic and social contributions, as well as their role in shaping Morocco's image internationally by sharing its history, culture, and national positions. The seminar stressed the importance of equipping Moroccan expatriates with the necessary tools and information to effectively represent national interests amid evolving geopolitical landscapes.

A central theme was Morocco's autonomy proposal for the Sahara, which attendees described as a realistic and practical political solution. They noted that the proposal has become a key reference for resolving the conflict and ensuring regional stability, bolstered by increasing international support. The event, held in celebration of the National Day of Moroccans Residing Abroad, also featured the honoring of prominent figures for their contributions to national causes and concluded with a dinner and cultural evening celebrating Moroccan diversity and heritage.
