Senator, NCDMB launch technical skills training for Delta youths

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has partnered with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to launch a three-week capacity-building program focused on rigging and scaffolding for local youths. The initiative aims to equip participants with practical technical skills crucial for employment in the oil and gas and construction industries.

The training emphasizes employability, safety competence, and self-reliance, addressing critical manpower gaps identified within these sectors. Speaking at the program's flag-off in Effurun, Senator Dafinone's Chief of Staff, Adelabu Bodjor, described the training as a strategic investment in human capital development for Delta Central.

Bodjor highlighted that rigging and scaffolding are essential technical competencies required for industrial operations, construction projects, and oil and gas installations. "The programme is intended to reduce dependency among youths by providing job-ready skills capable of supporting long-term economic opportunities and self-sufficiency," he stated.
