Senator Unveils Streetlight Project in Abia

Senator Austin Akobundu, representing Abia Central Senatorial district, has initiated the second phase of his 'Light-Up the Communities' project. This initiative aims to significantly improve the quality of life for residents across the senatorial district.

During a briefing in Umuahia, the state capital, Akobundu announced that this phase will extend streetlights to an additional 11 markets. He stated that the project will not only enhance the visual appeal of markets and communities but also bolster security and stimulate commercial activities in the targeted areas.

The project will cover another set of 11 markets across the senatorial district. This project will not only add to the aesthetics of the markets and communities, but will enhance the security and substantially boost commence and business activities across the designated areas.

The senator highlighted his commitment to attracting impactful projects and noted his past efforts in youth and women empowerment. He also mentioned sponsoring numerous bills and supporting motions in the Senate that directly benefit the constituents. Akobundu recently organized a free medical outreach covering three local government areas, with plans for a second phase to reach the remaining three.
