Senator Wadada clinches Nasarawa APC governorship ticket

Senator Ahmed Wadada has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, clinching the party's ticket for the 2027 governorship election. The victory came after a keenly contested primary election where Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, garnered a significant 195,285 votes, decisively outperforming six other aspirants.

The announcement was made by Professor Theodore Maiyaki, the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state. Maiyaki affirmed that the election process, which took place across all 147 electoral wards in the 13 local government areas, was transparent and that Wadada secured the highest number of valid votes.

This win positions Senator Wadada as the APC's flagbearer in the upcoming gubernatorial race. Maiyaki said the committee monitored the accreditation process and ensured transparency in the collation of results. He added that, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and electoral guidelines, Wadada was duly declared winner and returned elected as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
