Senior Residence Uninhabitable After Fire; Cause Unknown

A fire broke out at a senior living facility in Friedland, located in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte region of Germany, causing significant damage estimated at 350,000 euros. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze on Saturday afternoon and spent several hours extinguishing the flames.

Fortunately, all 15 residents of the facility were safely evacuated and were unharmed. Firefighters and care staff worked quickly to ensure everyone's safety. However, the building sustained severe damage, rendering it uninhabitable for the foreseeable future.

The displaced residents have since been accommodated with relatives or moved to other care facilities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the police, who are working to determine how the incident began.
