This exchange took place shortly before the victim, identified as Ms. Kim Jin-ju (pseudonym), and Han Dong-hoon arrived at the meeting venue in the National Assembly.

Following the backlash, Seo Beom-soo issued an apology on his Facebook page. He stated that the pain of criminal victimization should never be trivialized. He expressed his willingness to visit the victim in person to apologize if she grants permission. Rep. Jin Jong-oh also apologized, emphasizing that the victim's suffering is not a matter that can be lightly mentioned or ridiculed.
