Seoul Botanic Park to offer Friday, Saturday night openings to boost local economy

Seoul Botanic Park is set to enhance its visitor experience by introducing night openings on Fridays and Saturdays, a move designed to invigorate the city's night-time economy. This initiative aligns with Mayor Oh Se-hoon's broader strategy to stimulate economic activity after dark.

From September through October, the park will welcome visitors until 9 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of each month. This schedule will then adjust from November to February, with openings extending to 8:30 p.m. during the same days. The extended hours will apply to the paid sections of the park, including the exhibition greenhouses and themed gardens.

Beyond the extended hours, the park plans to host a variety of cultural events to complement the night-time ambiance. These will include classical, jazz, and Korean traditional music performances, as well as author talks, guided tours, film screenings, meditation therapy sessions, and drawing classes. A special "Moonlight Meditation Therapy" and "K-Garden Culture" program, featuring multilingual docents, are also planned, aiming to offer a unique blend of nature, culture, and healing experiences.
