Seoul City University, Hi Seoul Enterprises Association Sign Industry-Academia Cooperation Pact

Seoul City University and the Hi Seoul Enterprises Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster industry-academia cooperation and drive innovation within Seoul's regional industries. The agreement seeks to leverage the university's strong educational and research capacities alongside the association's extensive business network.

The collaboration is designed to build a practical framework for industry-academia ties, encompassing talent cultivation, joint research initiatives, and technology commercialization. By connecting these two entities, the partnership aims to significantly enhance the industrial competitiveness of Seoul and establish a foundation for regional innovation.

Specific areas of cooperation outlined in the MOU include offering specialized education for employees of Hi Seoul enterprises, conducting joint research and development (R&D), providing technical consulting, and resolving technical challenges faced by businesses. The agreement also covers facilitating technology transfer and commercialization of university-developed technologies, as well as creating opportunities for student internships, capstone design projects, and other industry-linked programs.

Seoul City University plans to utilize its research capabilities and shared research facilities to support the technological advancement of partner companies. Concurrently, the Hi Seoul Enterprises Association will work to connect its member companies' needs in technology, human resources, and commercialization with the university's offerings, thereby increasing the effectiveness of industry-academia cooperation programs and promoting joint R&D and commercialization efforts. University President Won Yong-gul emphasized strengthening the industry-academia cooperation system to ensure university research outcomes contribute to business growth and regional industrial development.
