Seoul City University selected as mentor institution for startup project

Seoul City University's Startup Support Group has been appointed as a mentor institution for the 'Everyone's Startup Project Season 2,' a significant national program organized by the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups. This initiative aims to foster and nurture innovative entrepreneurs by supporting their journey from idea to commercialization.

The 'Everyone's Startup Project' is designed to assist individuals with innovative ideas in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Season 2 has doubled its recruitment to 10,000 participants nationwide. Seoul City University will play a crucial role as a mentor institution for the general and technology startup sectors, with an anticipated selection of 8,000 entrepreneurs in these areas.

Selected entrepreneurs will receive comprehensive support, including a 2 million won startup grant, customized AI solutions valued at up to 1 million won over two months, and intensive mentoring from experts. The application period runs from August 20 to September 17, and is open to pre-entrepreneurs and existing businesses with less than seven years of operation seeking to diversify.

Under the slogan 'Anyone can start a business! Just bring your ideas!', Seoul City University, known for its focus on urban problem-solving, is significantly lowering the entry barriers. The project welcomes ideas that aim to improve daily life, not just those in highly technical fields like biotech, AI, or semiconductors. To aid applicants, the university will host 'One-Day One-Stop Business Plan Education' sessions on September 1, 9, and 15, covering everything from basic plan writing to submission. A project briefing session is also scheduled for September 10.

Participants who advance to later rounds will receive a comprehensive one-stop service, including education and incubation, comparable to that offered to companies already supported by the university. To encourage participation, applicants who select Seoul City University as their mentor institution will receive a coffee coupon, with chances to win an iPad or CJ gift certificates.
