Seoul to operate free campsites in Hangang Parks throughout August

Seoul is setting up free temporary campsites at Yeouido and Ttukseom Hangang Parks for August, offering 100 tents at each location under the name 'Hangang Pamp.' Operating daily from 5 PM to 9 AM, the campsites allow visitors to use their own tents or rent one for 20,000 won. To revitalize nearby businesses, overnight stays and cooking are prohibited. Instead, two late-night delivery zones will be added near the campsites.

The city plans to increase visitor stays and spending along the Han River through these temporary campsites, alongside swimming pools, water play areas, and festivals. The 'Hangang Festival-Summer' will focus on Yeouido and Ttukseom parks. Additionally, night bus services on the Hangang Bus route from Jamsil to Magok will be expanded starting in August.

This initiative aligns with Mayor Oh Se-hoon's strong push for a 'nighttime economy revitalization' strategy. He emphasized prioritizing the nighttime economy for the next six months, aiming to boost consumption during night hours by connecting culture, tourism, commercial districts, and transportation to enhance Seoul's competitiveness.
