SeoulTech Hosts 'Manufacturing Startup Networking Day' to Boost Post-Startup Support

Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) is intensifying its support for manufacturing startups through initiatives like the 'Manufacturing Startup Networking Day.' Held on August 27, the event provided a crucial platform for the university's Startup Support Group to engage directly with the companies it cultivates, fostering communication and offering targeted assistance.

This networking day is part of a broader effort to strengthen the startup ecosystem. Earlier, on August 19, SeoulTech convened various startup support institutions from the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions to establish the 'Seoul-Gyeonggi Startup Cooperation Council.' This initiative aims to create a collaborative framework, allowing institutions to share support details and work together more effectively.

Manufacturing startups face immense difficulties. Many representatives here have started their entrepreneurial journey but haven't even begun. If the representatives here succeed, a virtuous cycle of success will naturally follow for the next manufacturing entrepreneurs.

The 'Manufacturing Startup Networking Day' specifically focused on introducing SeoulTech's comprehensive support programs to 12 manufacturing startups. These programs include 'Sourcing Directing,' which offers design and manufacturing consulting, and 'Product Development,' aimed at helping startups create prototypes. For those seeking to scale, 'Continuous Growth Support' provides funding for prototype production, with plans for further assistance in marketability analysis, technology valuation, and competitive analysis.

Looking ahead, SeoulTech plans to support the initial mass production for two outstanding startups selected through external expert evaluation. This support will encompass funding, technical assistance, and mentoring. Additionally, the university is involved in broader government initiatives, such as the '2026 Regional Innovation Start-up Demo Day,' which connects startups with investors. The university's commitment extends to streamlining support programs, as evidenced by the government's move to consolidate various preliminary startup packages into a unified 'All-in-One Startup Support Program,' aiming for significant operational cost savings.
