SeoulTech students explore AI and security careers through industry visits

Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) has facilitated industry visits for its Anchor Project Group (formerly RISE Project Group) to global cybersecurity firm AhnLab and AI startup CT5. These excursions are part of a broader program designed to connect students with regional industries, offering them practical career exploration opportunities in the AI and security sectors.

The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. Students visited the Pangyo Techno Valley, a hub for advanced industries, to understand current technological trends and the specific competencies required for various roles. By experiencing these cutting-edge environments firsthand, students can better connect their coursework to industry demands.

During the visit to AhnLab, students toured the company's facilities and learned about the roles and necessary skills within the cybersecurity field. Mentors, including AhnLab employees who are SeoulTech alumni, shared their career preparation experiences, insights into student activities, and professional development journeys. This provided students with concrete guidance for pursuing careers in security.

This corporate visit was a meaningful opportunity for students to directly observe the changes in advanced industrial sites and the actual nature of jobs, allowing them to design their career paths more concretely.

At CT5, an AI technology company, students gained an understanding of the rapidly evolving AI industry ecosystem. They learned about the process of identifying startup ideas and commercializing technology, particularly through a lecture by CT5's CEO focusing on his entrepreneurial journey. This session highlighted the problem-solving skills, resilience, and career planning essential for technology-focused startups.

SeoulTech's Anchor Project Group, in collaboration with Ajou University's Anchor Project Group, plans to conduct six such programs this year, encompassing corporate visits and expert mentoring. These initiatives aim to build a robust industry-academia cooperation model, connecting regional universities, institutions, and industries to enhance students' practical skills and employability in strategic sectors like AI, semiconductors, and ICT.
