Sequel to hit Nepali film 'Oonko Sweater' announced; Piyush Mishra joins cast

Nepal's hit film "Oonko Sweater" is set to receive a sequel, officially announced as "Kaleji Oonko Sweater." The news was revealed during the INFA International Nepali Film Award ceremony, generating excitement for the continuation of the commercially successful project.

The follow-up film is slated for a 2027 release and is scheduled to commence filming after the Dashain festival. Nabin Chauhan, who wrote and directed the original, will return to helm the sequel. The cast will see the return of lead actors Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar, who were central to the first film's success. They will be joined by Alex Bishwakarma and Parikshya Limbu, as well as a notable addition from India: actor Piyush Mishra.

"Oonko Sweater" achieved significant commercial success, grossing NPR 106.2 million in Nepal, according to the Film Development Board's box office records. This strong performance has paved the way for the sequel, with expectations high for "Kaleji Oonko Sweater" to replicate or even surpass the original's popularity.
