Serbia announces subsidies for beekeepers

Serbia's Ministry of Agriculture has launched a public call for beekeepers to apply for subsidies, offering 1,000 Serbian dinars per beehive. The application period runs until July 15 through the eAgrar platform. This initiative targets legal entities, entrepreneurs, and commercial family agricultural holdings registered in the agricultural registry.

The support for beekeeping is an important segment of Serbia's agricultural policy.

The support is available for those with at least 20 and up to 1,000 beehives. Applicants must be registered in the agricultural registry, have active status, and have completed their registration renewal for the current year. They also need to have reported beekeeping activities and possess a HID number. Additionally, individuals who have marked and registered their hives in the Central Database and have duly reported their apiary status and changes are eligible.

The government's goal with these measures is to enhance the security of beekeeping production, safeguard bee populations, and boost the competitiveness of domestic beekeepers.
