Serbia launches first international tender for Belgrade-Niš high-speed rail supervision

Serbia's railway infrastructure company, "Infrastruktura železnice Srbije," has initiated its first international tender for the external supervision of the Belgrade-Niš high-speed railway construction. This move marks a significant step in the modernization of the country's rail network.

The pre-qualification call is open until September 24 and seeks to select qualified bidders for the supervision of construction works on Section 3, which spans from Paraćin to Trupale and Međurovo. This section is a crucial part of the broader project to upgrade the Belgrade-Niš railway line for speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour.

The supervision services for this section will be financed by the European Investment Bank. The tender was published on the company's website, a specialized site for Corridor 10, and in the European Union's official journal for tenders.

Section 3 of the future high-speed railway is 76.2 kilometers long. The construction of the Belgrade-Niš high-speed railway is highlighted as one of the most important investment projects in Serbia and the region. Its realization is expected to significantly enhance safe, efficient, and modern rail transport along the international Corridor 10, connecting Central Europe with Bulgaria, Greece, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
