Serbian ambassador to Okaz: Mutual visa exemption will strengthen cooperation and dialogue

Saudi-Serbian relations are entering a period of faster expansion, according to Serbia’s ambassador in Riyadh, with a new visa agreement presented as an important opening for broader ties.

Dragan Pejcinovic told Okaz that the agreement waiving visas for diplomatic, official and service passport holders represents a new step toward strengthening dialogue and contact between the two countries. He called it “the beginning of a process” that could eventually allow citizens of both countries to travel and communicate more easily.

The agreement was signed during a meeting in Belgrade between Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric. Pejcinovic said the measure would facilitate movement and reinforce dialogue and cooperation in the next phase.

The ambassador also pointed to the opportunities created by the two countries’ plans to host major international exhibitions. Serbia will host Expo 2027 Belgrade, while Saudi Arabia will host Expo 2030 Riyadh. He said the events could give both sides broad opportunities to benefit from one another’s expertise, knowledge and relationships.
