Serbian Education Minister Vows to Establish New Institutions, Reaffirm Church's Role

Serbian Education Minister Dejan Vuk Stankovic announced that the country is fully prepared for the upcoming school year, emphasizing a celebratory atmosphere for students starting their education.

I believe everything is ready, at least according to the information we have, for the school year to start normally and in a celebratory fashion.

Despite facing political and legal disputes, as well as public opposition, Stankovic reaffirmed the Ministry of Education's commitment to establishing new higher education institutions. These institutions will focus on the study of Serbian tradition, culture, and language.

I emphasize celebratory because it is a milestone for every family when a child starts school for the first time, meets their peers, and is introduced to their first teacher.

Stankovic expressed surprise at the resistance in Serbia to studying national traditions, culture, language, and history. He declared his intention to fight for the reaffirmation of the Serbian Orthodox Church's role within the nation's educational system, stating his resolve as long as he has the strength to do so.
