Serbian Families Await Response on Alleged Medical Errors

Twenty families in Serbia are still waiting for a response from the Health Minister regarding alleged medical errors and systemic failures. These families submitted an open letter a month ago, detailing their concerns about the healthcare system. Their continued silence from the Ministry of Health has led to frustration and a sense of being ignored.

Dejan Zejnula, a representative of the "Meri, pravo na život" (Meri, right to life) movement, expressed his disappointment with the ministry's inaction. He told N1 Serbia that the lack of any official reply to the families is telling. "The ministry has not responded to any family to this day, and I think that says enough, because often institutions, even when they do not respond, give a clear answer through that silence," Zejnula stated.

The movement advocates for patient rights and accountability within the healthcare sector. The families' open letter aimed to bring attention to specific cases where they believe medical malpractice occurred, seeking acknowledgment and action from the authorities. The prolonged silence from the Ministry of Health leaves the families without resolution and raises questions about the responsiveness of Serbia's health institutions.
