Serbian Ministry of Education disburses tuition fee reimbursements

The Serbian Ministry of Education announced that it has processed the first round of tuition fee reimbursements for self-financing university students. Based on data provided by 106 higher education institutions, the ministry has disbursed funds to cover 50% of the tuition fees paid by students for the 2025/2026 academic year. A total of 34,231 students are benefiting from this initiative, with over one billion dinars allocated for these payments.

Additionally, a separate payment was made to 117 self-financing students who qualified for reimbursement for the 2024/2025 academic year. These students had submitted their applications for the Student Card after the previous payment cycle's deadline. The ministry emphasized that it had extended deadlines multiple times for institutions to submit and correct student data and tuition payment information.

However, nine institutions failed to submit the required data or submitted it in an incorrect format. Students from these institutions will receive their reimbursements with the second installment in October 2026, after the data is reconciled. The ministry also reminded students whose founding institution is the Republic of Serbia that they do not need to submit a separate application. Those without a Student Card or who have closed their associated bank account must apply through the Treasury Administration portal.
