Serbian young chemists win five medals at South Korea tournament

Young Serbian chemists have achieved significant success at the International Chemistry Tournament in South Korea, bringing home five medals and a special award. The competition, held in Hoengseong from August 15 to 19, saw teams from around the globe compete. The Serbian contingent secured a bronze medal in the team standings. In the individual competition, members of the Serbian team further distinguished themselves by winning four additional medals and a special award. The International Chemistry Tournament (IChTo 2026) is recognized as one of the most challenging and prestigious team chemistry competitions, running annually since 2017. It gathers high school teams tasked with solving complex, multidisciplinary problems across chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, pharmacy, and related scientific fields. The 1% Foundation, which supported the young scientists, reiterated its commitment to fostering the potential of young Serbian talent. The foundation aims to help them excel and represent Serbia on the highest international stages.
