Seven die in Niger road crash

A tragic road accident on the Kutigi–Bida Road in Niger State, Nigeria, claimed the lives of seven people and left seven others injured. The collision involved a Toyota Sienna and a Mazda vehicle.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Shebe Village. The Mazda, traveling from Minna towards Mokwa, reportedly entered a blind corner and collided head-on with the Sienna, which was en route from Lagos to Minna. Both vehicles were reportedly full of passengers.

According to reports, seven occupants of the Mazda died at the scene. A teenage girl, the only survivor from the Mazda, was found unconscious. The Sienna carried seven passengers who sustained injuries, while four others reportedly escaped unharmed.

The Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Aishat Saadu, confirmed that 18 people were involved in the crash. Authorities are currently seeking to locate the relatives of the injured teenage girl, who remains the sole survivor from the Mazda vehicle.
