Seven Films Arrive in Cinemas This Week

Seven films will meet audiences in Turkish cinemas this week, offering a lineup that moves from romance and animation to survival thrillers and horror.

Damien Chazelle’s 2016 musical La La Land returns to the big screen with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles. The film follows jazz musician Sebastian and aspiring actress Mia, who meet by chance while pursuing dreams that both seem nearly impossible.

Fall 2: Deadly Climb centers on Jax, who is grieving the death of her sister, Shiloh Hunter. After becoming stranded on Thailand’s Kwan-in Mountain, Jax fights to survive. The cast includes Arsema Thomas, Harriet Slater, Tom Brittney and Jordan Coleman.

The Turkish films include Crazy Insects, about four cockroaches that emerge from an underground city and form an unexpected friendship with university students, and Azem 6: The Seal, which follows Ceren after she returns to the village where she grew up and encounters unexplained events.

Attack stars Adria Arjona as a former army sniper living in a desert caravan park. Her life changes when genetically modified soldiers escape from a nearby military facility and enter the area. Doraemon: New Nobita and the Sea of Demons follows Nobita and his friends as they explore a mysterious underwater castle with the help of Doraemon’s gadgets. In The Ice Cream Man, directed by Eli Roth and co-starring Ari Millen, sweet-faced children who want a snack turn into killers.
