Seven killed, eight injured in bus-auto collision in India's Andhra Pradesh

A tragic road accident in Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district claimed the lives of seven people and left eight others injured, including four children. The collision occurred when a private bus, traveling from Vijayawada to Tirupati, rammed into an auto-rickshaw carrying 15 passengers near Adda Road in Chilakaluripet mandal.

Four passengers in the auto-rickshaw died instantly, while three others succumbed to their injuries later at Guntur government general hospital and Chilakaluripet government hospital. The deceased have been identified as residents of Veluru village in Chilakaluripet mandal. They were returning to their village after attending a birthday celebration in Kondamanjuluru, a neighboring district.

The injured, including the four children, were promptly shifted to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring their condition at Guntur Government General Hospital. The police official confirmed the details of the accident and the victims.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu offered his condolences to the families of the victims. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) indicated that Naidu conveyed his sympathies and expressed concern for those injured. He also directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the highest standard of medical care.
